troubles with Chrome

i am running XP and was using Chrome for about 1 year. Until recently it worked very well. Now it is a CPU hog (100%) and will hardly run. I didn't add anything to it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and that doesn'r really help. It is fine for about a day then stops working. ie8 works and uses only about 10 to 20% CPU. Is there something else i can try to fix this problem?

1. Try in in another user. Log out of the user you use and into your spare account. If that works it could be an addon or a conflict. If it doesn't work, my bet is some addon.

2. Clean out Chrome. Here's how -> http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/zIV_mQn1L60

Uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome never removes what's in that folder at the link I gave.

Remove un-necessary extensions

First thing you have to do is remove unecesssary extensions , plugins and add-ons , In some cases this are responsible for extra memory and abnormal behaviour of chrome. So uninstall all this unwanted things from your chrome and then try.Hope it will get back to normal.
