IE7 maxes out CPU - occasionally

Dear geeks, experts, etc,
I have a P4 2.4GHz computer with 2GB RAM and plenty of free hard drive space (about 500 gigs) running fully updated XP and IE7. I have Norton Internet Security 2008 running - and showing green everywhere. The only BHO running on IE7 is Symantec stuff.
Under normal surfing conditions (like now) my CPU meter shows about 10% usage (after a jump when going from page to page). However some pages (such as this one at Best Buy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9016986&type=product&id=1218008593628) shoots it up to 60% CPU usage and it stays there until I close the page. If I duplicate the page, the computer really grinds to a halt.
The only process I see running (gt 1%) is iexplore.exe.
I have tried disabling Flash and Java, but it makes no difference. The funny thing is, I don't see much happening on this particular page, animations etc. I would expect to have more problems at the home page of BestBuy as that would be the busiest, I think. Some are also slowing the CPU, but not all like this.
The available memory stays at 1.3GB.
