dns cache

Sometimes throughout the day I get an error message when I try to open my browser be it IE, Netscape, or Firefox. I then have to log off and then log back on to open the browser. When I try to clear the dns cache by typing in "ipconfig /flushdns" at the command prompt I get this message: "Could not flush the DNS Resolver Cache: Function failed during execution." How can I "fix" this? Thanks

Problem resolved

Thanks for the links Ray but most of the suggestions were to go into the registry which I'm just not too comfortable doing. I checked Elder Geek and the suggestion was to go into Services and turn on "DNS Cache" which I did, restarted, ran "ipconfig /flushdns" and got "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache." But thanks anyway for the feedback.

I had the same problem with IE 7 and Firefox

I tried several fixes, did not work.
I decided to uninstall IE 7.
Now everything is working fine.
