Microsoft Update Redirect In IE - How do I get rid of it?
by johnsmith5555 - 9/2/05 10:09 PM
When I open an IE window now I get a webpage from microsft asking me to try their Microsft update feature. This takes place despite the fact that I have a ''blank page'' as my home IE page. Also I have Norton firewall and Ad-watch SE Plus running.
The change came about when I accidently clicked on Yes to a message that said microsoft was trying to make a registry change. I can't figure out how to keep this page from coming up. I tried a restore running spysweeper and Ad-aware and that didn't help. the page I get sent to is:
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/muoptdefault.aspx?ln=en&returnurl=http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us
Anyone have any ideas on how to remove this annoying change to my IE?
Thanks in advance
