How do I mount a hard drive from a win95 machine as a slave

I have an old 95 machine with a lot of stuff I want but I am now using an XP machine and so far the only way I have found to move a file is by email. I want to move everything to the XP machine. I saw a discussion on this topic and one of the recommendations was to mount the 95 drive as a slave on the XP machine. How do I do that?

In XP it's rarely done that way.

The concept of slave on IDE drives is frankly WELL DISCUSSED. It's a jumper setting that is documented by the drive's maker. On Dells you don't use that but set it to Cable Select (CS for short) and let's forget all this and do this the cheap reliable way.

Put the drive into some USB case that supports this IDE drive and then you're done.
