Quick notes:
1.) Though it's ultimately up to those involved, as a general rule I don't recommend accepting software from others as there's always a risk of malicious content. It can be very valuable at times if the software's legally redistributable yet currently unavailable from the usual sources, but I should give you a heads-up that links to unverified downloads are typically deleted in the forums out of an abundance of caution, so that's definitely something you'd want to do via email 'at your own risk.'
2.) I recommend members enable the Private Message option through your CNET profile and begin communication through that. You can always share email addresses with each other and then continue using email, but it is a safer start than posting the address in an open forum. Note: the PM system accepts text only, so any files would have to be transferred via email unless you upload them to a file hosting service and share the link.
3.) Over the years, I've seen that no matter how unique or obscure the issue, someone else always seems to have the same problem at some point. Not sure if anyone else is monitoring the thread, but if they are they're interested in it for a reason - might help others sooner rather than later. And I wouldn't worry about clogging up the forums - that's what they're here for.
4.) There's a current limitation/bug in the Tracked Thread notification system where you're notified of your own posts. There are plans to correct that while also letting you customize how notifications are received, but I'm not sure when we'll be seeing those updates.
Regards,
John
P.S. Sorry for not responding earlier - I failed to track the thread and didn't see your reply until after I received your PM.
