Windows 95/98 forum: Faxworks in Windows 98

Faxworks in Windows 98

I am attempting to install Faxworks, v.3.0 with Voice, in Windows 98. This program was previously installed in Windows 3.11, and served wonderfully well as a multi-function communications center, with multiple mailboxes, call notification, call forwarding, faxing. etc. If anyone has used Faxworks and knows how to set it to function in Windows 98, please contact me.

Windows 98 changed a lot from Windows 3.11 and I wouldn't expect all programs from that era to work. See if they offer a 98 version.

Unfortunately, the company that created Faxworks was sold to another, which dumped the product and its support. Faxworks works so wonderfully well that I find it hard to believe that it is not still in use, by someone, who, as I have, found it far superior to similar products on the market today!

Why not run 3.11 then?

The issue repeats as people move from version to version of Windows.

The computer which had 3.11 in it has no working cd drive, and the newer computer which replaced it has Windows 98.

Or you continue shopping for new fax software. What some don't understand is that one persons favorite isn't anyone elses and the product vanishes for a simple reason. No income means that you have to find another line of software to produce or line of work.

You seem to have received many years of use from that software/hardware so it paid off. Now its time to do some shopping to find your next ride.
