Getting messages at bootup after deleting AVG files.

Had trouble uninstalling AVG 7. to change to AVAST. Deleted AVG files and now I am getting messages on startup about files not found in system.ini.
Have to press Enter key about three times. Can you tell me how to edit the system.ini or other? Thanks! Win 98 on laptop.

I use notepad today for that. So that answers how.

What to do might be your next question. Since you are a seasoned DOS Windows user you would remark out lines that are creating those messages.

What I'm finding is many inherited an old 98 system and find it's not very friendly when it comes time to edit a system.ini file. I've used NOTEPAD as well as SYSEDIT. Do you remember SYSEDIT?
