Windows 95/98 forum: Need Browser reccomendations now that FF3 is not compataible

Opera, etc.

I liked Opera until I tried to print with it. Got postage size printouts that were not readable. I often print and read later due to eye trouble.

Still using FF2. Not sure about the others, Sea Monkey was on the list till I saw a post that noted printing problems.

I will keep that in mind while browsing for a new browser. I was spoiled by how well FF2 did printouts. I got away from cut and pasting into a word processor when using FF but will most likely go back to that process and settle for Opera. I liked its on page zoom control.

With win98 as my OS, using FF reduced my shut down problems to nothing compared to IE. Seems the active X and cookies were just jamming things up on shut down, but with FF's cleanup on shut down and no active X, things went much better. FF2 may no longer be updated/patched due to the newer FF3. I thought it might become more of a security risk. Just needed to see if there was another browser out there that would be kept up to date and work as well as FF2. I will stick with FF2, but I was hoping to maintain the same level of security/update with a browser version that would continue to be supported.

I have been using CCleaner for over a year now thanks to your advice. I now have it installed on all my computers. I been noting a renewed interest in CCleaner by posters due to its ability to deal with Flash Player cookies. That is a plus plus, great tool thanks for the recommendation.
