Windows 95/98 forum: Weird Problems

Weird Problems

First Problem:Over the past year, for reasons unknown, I can't get access into certain websites anymore, i.e., nashbridges.com, excite.com. I get error message saying 'page cannot be displayed'. I check all my settings but can't figure it out.

Second Problem: When I go to Yahoo.com, the page that is diaplayed is from easter of 2003! Again I chedk my settings, cleared my cache but no effect.

Third Problem: I have gray parallel line/bars that coincide with the print on any page. Its not my monitor as I switched to seeif it was so it must be within my drive. Any expalantions for all these.

There is a programe that downloads and stops you from viewing web pages I can't remember the name but if you look in add/remove programes the name ends in .exe the first part is a short name if you have it delete it and you should get your missing pages back the worst case senerio is that I did have one computer affected by it and on deletion the pages came back once and then went again so I formatted and started again no problems since. As to your second problem I had something set my computer date to 2010 and nothing would work the way I found out was I uninstalled and went to reinstall Nero and it came up this version has expired and won't work in 2010. As to your third problem I have no idea but it's probably something to do with your video card settings or maybe your desktop settings

If you are using IE6 (probably the same with IE5 but I do not remember now), at the top of the page, click Tools ... then Internet Options ... Connections tab. On that tab, check to see if your Dial-up & LAN settings have been changed. I recently had a similar problem and these settings had been changed.
