Home Address changed by a PARASITE?

I set my Control Panel, Internet Options, General Home Address to: http://www.comcast.net/comcast.html and after accessing the Internet a few times it has http://searchexe.com/passthrough/index.html? added to and ahead of the original address and messes up my logon to my Comcast home page.
I have used extensive SpyBot cleaning cycles of my system to the point where there is no problems running SpyBot. I also ran a Parasite checker and all is clean. Anyone come across this problem and how to clean it up? I suspect Registry problems which I tend not to play around with.

http://www.computing.net/windowsme/wwwboard/forum/41447.html gives several options for removal, although it seems unclear if hihjackthis does it or does it not.

It might be that Spybot and Adaware with latest definition will fix this. And http://www.kephyr.com/spywarescanner/ says they surely do it (searchexe has been added to their database about a month ago).

Other links found at google (searching for searchexe homepage) weren't more helpful.

Search it out!
