Sound issue.

I loaded Ubuntu 12.04.1 on my PC which was working perfectly with XP. The sound was no problem. I had a sound card "Audiophile 2496" installed I had to disable the onboard sound facility. I am not sure if there is a driver for this card available ? Or there is some alternative driver required!
Now since Ubuntu software I can not get the sound to work at all. I have the same speakers.
I am lost really, but I want to try my best, before I throw in the towel. Please help.

Looked at it's maker's drivers and read.

Very odd card. But why not use the Ubuntu forum where folk discuss this card? Example follows.
