I use Mandriva Linux since 2000 and always ran great.
As far Linux in general...
No viruses, no add-ware, none of that stuff.
Tried to go to the worse sites that you can imagine, click on every add and pop-ups. Have not caught anything yet or either signs of slowing performance.
Another thing that Linux does not have that MS does is Defrag. The File System does NOT need Defrag. The key is to keep it below 95% full and will not fragment.
But in general, Linux does not need it.
Also does not have a Register like MS does, so there are not hidden Hot Keys or Reg Hacks, Reg Edits, hidden Register Installations or any of that.
