Host serving old files.

I have been using my hosting co for about 6 years now and about a month ago server started serving a six month old version of my site. Removing all changes since this version. FTP shows updated files, I can PUT new files, I can GET the updated files via FTP, but the file served are six months old. I even deleted entire site from FTP, and the site still is up. Almost like a ghost or echo. My hosting company will not return calls or emails and I have about 15 trouble tickets and no response. Yes I am moving to another host, but it's eating me up trying to understand what is happening here. Does this sound like a problem that's happened before?

I had forgotten to clear my browser cache or use the shift+F5 to reload the page (which varies with the browser.)

It was my moment of "Doh."

Not a cache issue

I wish it were that easy. Old version was coming up even on a pc, tablet, and phone, some of which have never been to site before.

The server your logging into

to manage your files does not seem to be the same server that's serving your website. I'm guessing that your host's DNS is a bit messed up internally, which is how that can happen.

I was thinking it might have been some kind of mirror not connected to my FTP part. I don't know. I finally got a response this evening saying site has been fixed. They didn't offer an explanation, but at least it's fixed now, a month later. I guess it will be a mystery to me. I'm still changing host though, this is not the first time this nature of anomaly has happen. Thank you for your reply.
