How do I increase traffic to a technology company website?

I am new to SEO and looking to increase traffic to a technology company website. I don't want to use banner ads and I know about meta tags.

I need to do this in a professional way and not sure if link exchanges are the way to go either.

I would greatly appreciate some suggestions.

1. Have a product people want.
2. Have pretty pictures that people want to see.

Use basic skill of SEO - Choose right Keywords

I can understand you are new to SEO. So it would be good if you can choose right keyword for your website by using keyword analysis tool. Then optimize your site according to those keywords. Banner ads is not the only way to advertise your site and generate traffic. Join social networking site like twitter and facebook and try advertise your site through it.

Spend sometimes to do a back link campaign in a good high pr authority websites. If you can have higher PR then it's a good chance your SERP will improve as well.

Of course, before making any SEO, make sure you have a great & nice content that visitor want to see. After that you can make "On Page" SEO, which optimize your home page for search engine optimization.
If you have unique content, you don't need much back link as other to get high rank position in search engine.

1. Write some technique articles relevant to your product and submit them to article websites.
2. Build a blog for your company, write some useful articles relevant to your product and update it every day.

This is a great question to ask. Many believe that all they need to do is create a website upload it to a host and people will come. That could not be further from the truth. SEO is very important and every company no matter the size should invest in quality SEO to get their websites high SERP as well as keep customers coming back.
