hotdoodle - easy and cheap
I would recommend http://hotdoodle.com - being in UK, it'll still work fine for you, and you don't need to download anything or learn anything special.
They have everything you'd probably need - get a domain name (or use one you already have), and get a website. I would say it's pretty cheap (a basic site is $10 a month).
You can go onto their website, and start editing a template right away. They have a lot of advanced features, but it's still really easy to edit, and the look/layout of the site is fully customizable (you could literally revamp it to look however you want).
The nice thing is that you don't have to worry about trying to figure out how to set up hosting, uploading to a server, etc. because it's all integrated and done for you. It's all online, so you can edit from any computer with internet access.
The reason I would recommend it is because you pay a flat fee, and then everything is taken care of. You don't have to worry about random fees for a bunch of things.
Since you said this is your first web site, I would suggest you go this route. You point and click to add content. If you ever need help, you can always message them and they help you out. A good idea of some of their features are here: http://www.hotdoodle.com/?section=Features
It may give you more ideas on what you can do on your site (interact with customers by broadcasting a newsletter, or adding a discussion forum, for example).
Good luck! I hope this helps. Once you get the hang of it, it's actually a lot of fun since the possibilities are endless!
