Hi,
i am planning to implement a chat for my website now the thing is i have got the chat working on my local network which has 5 computers connected on it, the chat works fine but its bit slow.Now i have a website i am looking forward to implement this chat onto,but what worries me is i am on SHared hosting server my site has around 700 users on it,if suppose they start using the chat service will the chat work properly as i am on shared hosting or will it crash...

Confusion = Do i need to go on Dedicated hosting or will Shared hosting work fine ???

heavy the chat is. Either way, if it's using too much, you'll get a notice from your host to upgrade your plan and/or switch to a VPS/dedicated server. Let them know you are doing this, so they don't just suspend your account, and take this opportunity to work with them on monitoring your resources.
