I followed your recommendation & uninstalled Incredimail & macromedia... BUT after Reinstalling INCREDIMAIL I kept being directed to a non functioning Macromedia site supposedly to install the correct version of Flash .So no Incredimail ! Finally I opened IE6 ( NOT my customary Firefox &&&& It worked after I clicked RUN Thennnn.... after spending 1+ hours reinstalling "Letters , Animations etc. " I closed out & AGAIN got that darn direction !!! Again NO CHOICES just leads to a Non-Functioning file.So no more Incredimail AGAIN
Further I continue receiving NO ANSWER from Incredimail "Help" to this Dillemma OR what my Key-number is....
I have spent MANY HOURS on this problem and am getting Extremely frustrated as I already miss my Incredimail a lot. I have already lost all addresses etc. that were in my Incredimail and can ressucitate them but need help with the above .
How can I contact Incredimail preferrably by phone OR a functioning E.Mail address....... Lloyd

I too had what I thought was an issue with Incredimail! I was having problems opening the program, sending and retrieving email...and this didn't start until I recently purchased the Premium! The free one I had for over 3 years without having problems. I love the program!! Anyway, I uninstalled it, and then re-installed it. Everything came up but it was the free one and all I needed to do was put in my code and all was restored...every single thing was as it was when I uninstalled it. It has been working just fine since then.
Don't you just love being able to assign a different notifier to your incoming emails?? Is great, I don't even have to get out of what I am doing to know who it is from...and I LOVE THAT TURKEY!!!
I have read that Incredimail makes many changes to your system...I believe a couple thousand actually..and even when you THINK you have deleted the program it is still there with many tendrils throughout your system. Now, I don't know if that is why when deleting it and then bringing it back all of my settings were still there...
I have tried numerous times to use OE and I don't like it! And forget that mini screen you get to type in on Yahoo...try viewing a photo on there!! I just can't understand why MS can't take the good things about Incredimail and make a decent OE!!
Just my humble opinion!

I am having the same problem. Out of the blue I get this message telling me to install correct version. I did this, and yet it doesn't show the picture. I am a paid member of incredimail, so it's not like I have the free version. I have tried just about everything....even system restore. I can't even get into incredible to reach incredimail support. I too, have worked on this all day. Lloyd....if you reseolved this problem, can you please e-mail me. I thankfully have Outlook Express as a backup, but I want Incredimail back. I did install Norton Security a few days ago, but I have used Norton many times and I have been running Incredimail for years with no problems. Please e-mail either way, with your dilemma. Thanks Elaine

You have posted into a discussion that is some 3 years old. I doubt if anyone is watching this now.
Also, you have posted your email address. This is unwise because forum bots, (robots), trawl forums like these for email addresses they can target for spam.
I have asked CNET's Admin to remove that email address for you.
If you want to create a new discussion, please head over to the forum listing at the top, (where it says Windows XP), and click the green, "Create a new thread" button.
Good luck.

I was using Incredimail for the last 3 years. And never had any problem with it. I don't agree with anybody telling you to ditch it. Run your anti-spy/ad/mal programs and if they show incredimail in their scan then you may think of your friend's suggestion.

The reason it dumps the email, is because the FREE VERSION has banner ad's. IF YOU PAY for the simple version of Incredimail, then you wont have any problems. I've been a VERY HAPPY USER of Incredmail for 5 years, and directed others to their site. I was so impressed with it, that I've purchased their Premium service, Email Letter Creator and have their Gold Gallery version. I decided NOT TO BUY AN IMac BECAUSE IT DOESNT SUPPORT INCREDIMAIL.......that's how much I think of it. It's fun, people LOVE the stationery, animations, music, ecards and voice recorder, plus the variety of skins and notifiers.
I will NEVER, EVER go back to regular Emails. Customer Support at Incredimail is WONDERFUL, and I've never, ever had a problem with their paid version. People who PICK on Incredimail really have not given it a good try.......and I assure you,......they dont track your emails.
How is the version determined?

How does one determine which version of the mail application is installed? For example; Is the "free" version identified as a "trial" within the add/remove programs panel? Or, can this be discovered through the help/about procedure? (assuming the buttons exists)
Which version

Incredimail's FREE version will have a banner ad running on the bottom. Send you self an email to see.
Also, click open Incredimail, then Help, then License.....if nothing is there, then you have the FREE VERSION.
I make it a practice to check for updated versions of my Incredimail....as they do fix little bugs that crop up for some people. Check your "build" under HELP/ABOUT INCREDIMAIL. Then under HELP click on DAILY GALLERY.Then click on the tab DOWNLOAD. They just put out a new updated build on MARCH 2, 2005. If your "BUILD" does not show BUILD 1856......then you need to click the "UPGRADE" only .....dont click on "click to download", unless you dont have Incredimail already installed.
thanks

Touche! I have been an Incredimail user almost since its inception & I only have two complaints about it. (1) there is a definite lack of support (2) all settings ARE NOT transferred to a new hard drive or computer. I lost many emoticons, backgrounds, part of my address book, etc. when I transferred over to new computers. I now expect it & accept it. It is the price one pays for such an "incredible" e-mail program.

Support advised me of the following.....
1. If you plan on REFORMATTING YOUR PC OR NEED TO MOVE YOUR LICENSE TO ANOTHER COMPUTER.... FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON:
HTP://WWW.INCREDIMAIL.COM/FAQ.ASP?PAGE=MOVE_LICENSE
Further, if you are looking for instructions or experiencing any problems... email them at
subscription@incredimail.com for assistance.
Why didnt you make a BACK UP COPY OF ALL YOUR STATIONERY, MUSIC, ANIMATIONS, ECARDS, NOTIFIERS???
I did, and I was able to reload them with ease....I didnt lose a thing when I had to do full system reboot from 0000's a couple months ago.
Last bit of advice, I print and save every email I get from Incredimail's support. I's come in handy several times.
I have NO complaints with or about Incredimail....but again, I have the licensed versions.
In the long run, You get what you pay for....or dont pay for.

grandpajim, I don't use Incredimail, but I would suspect that when switching to a new computer or new hard drive Incredible and all updates, etc. would have to be reinstalled the same as any other application.
The fact that your personal settings are not transferred should be evidence that your settings are only on your computer and not files on Incredimail's web site. I would be pleased that Incredimail was not holding my personal info to use for something else. ![]()

First of all, I have been using the paid/registered version of Incredimail without any major trouble. I do believe the free version may have some tracking for the ads, etc. it would show, but the pay version works fine.
Second of all, Incredimail stores most of its personal settings under Documents and Settings/username/application data/Incredimail. If you would use "move my settings to a new PC" or backup that folder and subfolder and copy that into your newer PC, it should maintain all of its customization and email files for you.
I did have to uninstall Incredimail once {an upgrade crashed because I had left Norton Internet Security 2004 running}, I shut that down, uninstalled and reinstalled and I lost nothing. The Norton Ghost issue sounds as if it is a problem with Ghost. System Restore may help there.
Individual email files and folders also save with an *.eml extension. They will open up in Outlook Express if you need to convert them or put them in Outlook. {My only complaint about Incredimail is this lack of ease of exporting}.
But - the paid/registered product is fine. Hope this helps...

I love to hate Norton.( but that's another story). Did you happen to wipe out Macromedia Flash too? Is it still installed on your computer? If not, try to re-download it at www.macromedia.com...then try Incredimail again. If that doesnt work, then
try opening up Incredimail, click on Help and then License.....do you see Incredimail Premium listed there. If not, click on enter code, and type in your license number, the one they gave you when you purchased the Premium package. If that doesnt work.......then try this...open your drive C: and click open the following....../program files/incredimail/bin/licenses. Now delete the IM PREM IMK file...... Then shut down, restart and open Incredimail/Help/ ENTER REGISTRATION CODE. If that doesnt work, then you have two choices, you can try a System Restore to a date when everything worked properly........ or......You'll have to LOSE EVERYTHING, uninstall Incredimail, then do a clean install of Incredimail. Yes, I know it's a pain, and you'll have to re-download all the statinoery, sounds, animations, notifiers, skins but it isnt Incredimails fault..... It's us not leaving well enough alone.

First check out this incredimail link and read about Macromedia and Incredimail.
http://www.incredimail.com/english/help/searchfaq.asp
If that doesnt help you, I'd uninstall Incredimail from Add/Remove programs. Be advised You'll lose everything in Incredimail you know...addresses, letters...everything. Then just to be sure it's totally uninstalled, go into C:/program files/ and look to see if there's a folder named Incredimail.
If it's still there, delete it....then empty your trash. Close and reboot. Now DISABLE your Norton and any Firewall program you have running, and any pop up blockers, banner blockers, etc. Then I would Start downloading Incredimail. It probably will reinstall macromedia flash for you.

.... is there any way I can save data from Incredimail..addresses etc. before I do the above?
I tried to uninstall Nortons. but got a message saying it was corrupted etc. & could not uninstall it. It has been such a pain that I'd love to lose it permanently. Do I "over" install Nortons then uninstall it or what do you suggest?
Many Thanks Lloyd

the easy way to back up all your incerdimail data is to go to the "file" menu.... "data and settings transfer".... "transfer to new computer". this will open a wizard which is easy to follow.
as far as nortons is concerned i have come accross this many of times with clients computers and have found a format & reboot the OS is the only way. i have also tried to over install nortons but crashed the computer before i could backup anything.i recommend using Avast antivirus which is free for non-commercial use.
hope this helps

I love INCREDIMAIL and volunteered for Beta 2 by Incredimail, since then I can't open the program. They told me to reinstall the program; but that didn't work.
The following message pops up when I try to open it.
THIS APPLICATION HAS FAILED TO START BECAUSE sqlite3.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix the problem.
Can anyone PLEASE help. I know that many people hate Incredimail but;

Just a note to begin with though. You've posted in a discussion that is now a few years old, and as such many members here see the date of the first post then 'walk on by'.
Two possibilities;
1] Revert back to the previous install of Incredimail. I suspect that would be by way of XP's "System Restore".
2] Go back to Incredimail and ask them to solve the problem. It is their software, after all.

pffft You decided not to buy an imac because of some piece of overhyped bloatware? Um not only is Incredimail FULL of adware in the free versions it has a tendency to de-stablize your system the same way that AOL tends to do. And the other problem is what if the person that you are sending that email too doesn't have incredigarbage? How are they supposed to view it. Ya know good thing Microsoft got smart and finally made Windows stable; I used to work for an organization that did tech. support for ISPs that choose to outsource. I don't know how many times I would receive a call that said my connection won't work all because of AOL's garbage software.

Blank email from IncrediMail

In Reply to: incredimail is garbage! by mrhex
I can't comment one way or another on most of this, but 1 statement struck a chord: "what if the person that you are sending that email too doesn't have [IncrediMail]?"
I get emails from a friend using IncrediMail and when I open them, the message body appears to be blank. To read the message, I need open the email source and scan through to find the text. The alernative is to to copy the HTML source to notepad, strip out all the Incredimail XML scripting and then view in a web browser. That's an awful lot of work.
Is there a way to view IncrediMail-generated email messages without actually installing IncrediMail (and taking on the security risks that go with it)?

I have had the free version for over 5 years with very little problems. I feel that it is very easy to use,but when you say they have wonderful customer service...How do you get them to respond? I just have to search for my answer myself. My 2 current questions are: My kids can access their email from my house, can I access Incredimail from another computer? I have a wireless router to access internet from my laptop, but I can't access Incredimail. Also Are all my emails stored on my computer or in cyberspace, like some of my friend's email providers do? Anybody know? Kathy
