printing cuts off the right side of the page?

What do I need to do to make sure that when I print information from the net, it prints the entire page width?? Change my "properties"? Thanks

IE Bug

This bug has persisted in IE for many years, and Microsoft doesn't seem interested in fixing it.

For this, numerous security, and dozens of other reasons, I recomend abandoning IE in favor of something like Mozilla Firefox. It'll be a huge first step in combatting spyware, it will properly print web pages without truncating the right side, and it has a wealth of other features that will make life on the Internet much more enjoyable.

Its not an IE bug. Read my previous post on this thread.

As to Firefox, as a proffesional web developer and IT proffesional for over 12 years, I can honestly say: smeffss...

It just isn't exciting to see an old product given a new face and hyped like its the next best thing since sliced bread.

Its not more secure, its not faster, and its one more thing you have to install on your machine.

Trust when I say that these aer not ignorant comments. I have heavily tested the product. It just isn't worth the time needed to download and install.

Just because IE is constantly having security uopdates published doesn't mean its unsecure. It means that MS is a responsible company that is constantly ensuring that its product is the best it can be.

Web printing and cut off items.

The issue is not your system, its the irresponsible web developers issue.

Sure you could print landscape, but ultimately its the web pages fault.

The addition of the left nav area in most sites creates a "junk information" area when it comes to printing.

A responsible webmaster/developer will always include a printable version option somewhere on the page.

Most of these are simple CGI or some other kind of script that strips the left nav bar and (hopefully) all the dreck that you don't want to print.

So to answer your question,

Don't change any settings.

Do look for a printable version option somewhere on the page.

If a tool is not coded in, then simply copy and paste the content you want into another program(word, notepad, whatever) and print from there.

Printing a web page.

Which browser do you use ? You can't always print a full page because of the way the page is designed. Some web pages contain 'frames' and you have to choose which frame to print, etc. However, there are 'adjustments' that can be made:

For Internet Explorer 6:
At File> Page Setup, you can choose paper size, margins, and orientatin.

For Firefox:
At File>Page Setup, in addition to the settings at IE, you can 'scale' the page 'to fit' or you can select the % of scaling.

You can 'play around' with different paper sizes and margins, etc. to get the effect you want.

For both browsers, you can preview before you print.

Click FILE, Page setup, And change the margins.

Left, Right, Top =0.25 and bottom =0.75
