Thank you for responding.
I apologize, I neglected to mention: most "solutions" say to go to the "Accessories" folder and alter the target under properties. I have two problems with that:
1. On my Windows, there is no "Windows Explorer" selection in my Accessories folder (or any link to it in any folders). I honestly don't know why that is the case, but it is. I'm sure I could fix THAT fairly easily.
2. I will continue searching, but what I really want to do is restore it to where I can right-click "START" then select "Explore" and have it open to my username folder (c:\Documents and Settings\JohnDoe) INSTEAD of the "c:\Documents and Settings\Default User\JohnDoe" folder.
I don't know if this will involve editing the registry, or using a "tweak" or 3rd party utility. It's just that searching the 'net for a solution has become increasingly frustrating with the proliferation of "useless" web sites that dance around the problem without actually specifically addressing it.
Again, I do appreciate your response! Thank you!
