Trying to check the disk: is not possible to run AUTOCHK.EXE

Hi,
I have a pendrive with Windows installation to repair a netbook with windows xp.
So I boot with that pendrive, and then I press R to repair.
Then i do chkdsk /r /p and i get this:
AUTOCHK.EXE was not found either in the directory nor in the CD-ROM drive. Write the full path (with the drive's letter) to specify the place of AUTOCHK.EXE.
So I have copied AUTOCHK.EXE to my pendrive also. Now this is the output of w:\> dir:
14/04/08 03:18a -a------ 624128 autochk.exe.
Then type again chkdsk /r /p and get the message above and then I type w:autochk.exe, but i get this message:
It means:
AUTOCHK was not found in the specified path.
Any idea I'm getting this message? any problem with the permissions of the file maybe?
