Windows XP USB ports not working?

Hi,
HP pavillionA450N machine. Recently had an os reinstall and after, USB ports worked. Wireless was through a USB adaptor. Took it out for one reason, reinstalled, not working, USB keyboard and thumb drives not working. In terms of wireless Internet adapter, uninstalled software, reinstalled. Changed adapters. Nothing, did a restore point. Still nothing. Need the Internet to sync iTunes. Frustrated. The modem from Verizon, has a non lighted area that says USB? Not sure if it is connected somehow or what that is used for. Anyway, any thoughts would be appreciated.

Ask HP for the install procedure.

As you read the next link you discover HP has drivers on FTP servers that you might only find -> if you ask HP <-.

Installing the OS is now so involved that my best advice is to use restore CD/DVDs rather than learn the old ways. You bring up a good point. Are the days of Windows numbered as folk don't want to learn all this arcana?
