Ooh. Bad luck my friend. If you did not find it, even on recycle bins, then it's basically incinerated or deleted with a DELETE button. I guess your mother had pressed something that caused a chain reaction to delete that folder. There are also some malware that deletes files or corrupts them or, hides them.
Ooh. Good luck my friend. If you have a back-up, use it. It is better next time to create a back-up in case a nuke blew and part of your files are gone. If you have a back-up, load it, although I would think that it is not "up-to-date" and may not have the complete files because it is an earlier backup.
If a nuke really blew and destructed most of your files, it's basically hopeless without a back-up. There are programs that help search lost files. Pressing Shift+Delete will incinerate files. Incinerating files is different from deleting files. Deleted files can be recovered, while an incinerated file is history. Gone forever without a backup.
