RDP to office and Print at home

Have XP Pro at home and XP Pro in the office. When at home I want to RDP to the office and print on My Brother HL 2270DW at home. I selected all the "allow local devices and printers" and all other appropriate choices in my RDP options boxes on the home machine. Still no go.

I checked the event log on the work computer and it said "No Drivers for the Brother...., contact your Administrator" hate it when it says that, cause that's me. So I downloaded the proper drivers from Brother on the work machine, started the install and got to the options/choices of USB, Wireless or Network. I chose USB and unlike other Printers this one doesn't give the option to install without plugging in the USB. Then it rolled back without installing the drivers. I know this because I remoted in and saw the same message in the event log about no drivers found.
So the question is: how and where do I install the drivers on my work machine so that when I RDP from home it sees my brother and has the right drivers for the remote session so I can print at home?

Unless this is a networking/permissions issue with XP vs W7, you should be able to print based on the hardware/PC you are using locally. IOW, right now on my HP netbook (running W7 starter) I can RDP to my copy of Office 2010 at work (W7 Enterprise), hit print, and it arrives on my locally (USB or ethernet) connected Brother HL-2070N at home (currently connected to an Apple Airport Express, btw).

FWIW, I have never installed any Brother printer drivers on my work PC, since 1) we have a huge fleet of HP & some Canon/Epson rigs, and 2) I do not login as admin on this particular work PC, which is what would be required to actually install any drivers. Question: is your work PC limited in what you can and can't install(?)

Plan B unfortunately would be to email yourself the documents and print after they've arrived at home in your in box.

Problem is XP does not have the drivers natively like Windows 7 does That's why yours just works. XP came out many many years ago and the 2270 less than a year give or take a year. Emailing is not an option. But thanks for responding.
