Windows XP appreance distorted

Hi All,

I have a windows xp service pack 2 installed on my PC, and the things appear slightly distorted.
I have attached the picture below where there is a clear difference of colour. the color on left corner of the red box appear slightly lighter as compared to the colour on the right side of the box.

My video drivers are all updated and also there is no issue with the monitor as i have checked it with another system.

I was wondering if this color distortion is due to some hardware failure or Windows installation.

Please help me out to figure out this issue.

Looks fine here, but you did a screenshot, which basically dumps the video buffer to an image file, as opposed to taking a photo of the screen itself with a cell phone or camera.

So, that would tend to indicate that your video card is fine. If you are absolutely certain the issue isn't with the monitor, which would be the next logical conclusion, then it would have to be something between the video card and the monitor. That basically leaves only the VGA/DVI/HDMI/DP port on the computer/video card, and the video cable. I'd still say the likely issue is the monitor however.

As an aside, you should move up to SP3 ASAP. Having XP on the Internet these days is dangerous enough without intentionally leaving yourself open by running an outdated version like SP2.
