windows security alerts firewall sign stays on, saids my firewall os off, I can't get it to turn on. IBM Thinkpad T-30, Pentium 4, xp, laptop. Thank you very much!,

In the box on the left, choose (trying to remember the exact phrasing) Choose how Windows reminds me . . . uncheck the firewall.
