A computer create multiple file sharing session

currently, i'm handling a server using Windows XP Pro while waiting for an upgrade.

i understand that windows XP Pro limit 10 concurrent connection and so here is my problem :
we have 10 computer that need to access shared file by creating mapped drive from the server while one of our computer, running windows vista, keep using 2 sessions that makes the 10th computer couldn't established the connection.

How can i limit that windows vista computer to 1 session only?

Helps and guides are much appreaciated. Thanks

Running a client OS like XP as a server is asking for this kind of problems. Better switch to Windows Server.

From your story it isn't clear why the Vista computer makes 2 connections. Maybe that's inherent to Vista, maybe it's something special with that machine. So I'd start experimenting with another Vista machine to see how that works.

Is A Printer Shared From the Server or the Vista Machine?

If so, then you may be seeing a null session being created when the Vista machine comes on line.. Have you tried the suggestions in the link below to block any null sessions?:

There are patches and registry entry hacks will change the amount of concurrent connections, but it violates the EULA for XP Pro SP2 so I won't be discussing such here. As stated by Kees, a server operating system is the best way to go here..
