Resetting an old work laptop.

Hey, my dad gave me his old Dell work laptop and i want to wipe it so it doesn't have the work login or anything. I want to restore it to factory settings.

Its running Windows XP and I don't have a cd with windows on it.

Can someone please help me?

Call Dell and see if they have an OS for you to download or buy. It will be much cheaper (about 35 bucks) than the other methods of getting Windows.

You can also install UBUNTU if you can't afford the prior answers.

Thanks, yeah that link you posted should help, as it does have a windows vista sticker on it. But I also need help resetting it. I don't know the process to get rid of the old work login.

If you need a dell XP disc, send me your info and I can get you one. You'll need a re-installation disc to wipe it out and bring it back to new. My email is robrote66@gmail.com if you're interested in a disc.
