Cannot connect to the internet on a newly installed Windows!

Hello, people!
I really need some help. This problem has been bugging me for ages! I used to use Windows 7, but that crapped out. So I have decided to switch to Windows XP. The install went well! But, I cannot connect to the internet!
In my network connections it says '1394 Connection', with no errors. But, when I unplug the Ethernet cable, nothing changes! Please, I really need help! Please find my DxDiag.txt file here.

Good morning,
You staed that your Windows 7 "crapped out" and you installed XP. Did you find all your drivers for this OS? You will need the driver for your ethernet adapter in order to access the internet. The 1394 connection is a firewire adapter.

I forgot to mention I am using a custom built pc, so I cannot install any drivers from any discs sad
But, I do have a Netbook with Ubuntu. Is there any way I could download the drivers on there and transfer them to my desktop (windows xp) pc via a USB? Thank you for your help.

I would install a wireless adapter so that you can get onto the internet then goto Windows Updates and download all of the hardware drivers that show up as available for your system. This will most likely include your ethernet driver.
