Data lost on External HDD after accidental partition removal

Samsung G2 Portable External Hard Drive 500 GB Hi-Speed USB, Model: HX-MU050DC/GB2

While installing windows xp on my computer, the above mentioned HDD was plugged into my computer. I deleted the partition on it mistakenly during the installation of windows. But I have not formatted it. And I have not written anything on it after that.

Now when I plug this HDD into my PC, I can see the green USB icon on the right bottom of the taskbar. But I do not see the HDD in My Computer.

I tried to use some third party software to recover my data. But that is not possible as I don't see the icon to my HDD so that I can browse to it for data recovery.

Your assistance in this regard will be highly appreciated.

I'd start with Zero Assumption Recovery or ZAR, then GETDATABACK.
