computer slowing down for no reason

just since yesterday, my computer has been slowing way way down. it only started when i had trouble getting a connection to the server for DSL, but that got solved. i can access IE, which is all i want to do, but it went from taking only about 5 or ten seconds for a page to fully load to about 30 sec- 1 min.

i've deleted almost all the temporary internet files, deleted lots of cookies, and run Symantec virus scan. nothing. not any better.

i don't know how it can slow down that fast in a matter of less than 12 hours.

anyone know? help

i also forgot to add that sometimes when a page isn't fully loaded, and the scroll bar thing (is that what you call it?) on the right of the page is there, if you scroll down the text seems to smudge. the only problem is the page never fully loads again. you should be able to start to view the page even if its not all there, right?

spyware might be installed on your computer! norton won't detect spyware or adware, it will only detect viruses. i suggest you get a free program called Ad-aware (www.lavasoft.com) or Microsoft's new Antispyware program (also free).
