how to burn dvds using windows media player

I have windows media player included on my pc which gives me the option to burn, rip and sync cds and dvds. Should I purchase additional software to burn dvds to watch on stand alone dvd players?

Go get the program CDBurnerXP. It's free and will do most anything. Now, very important. Make sure the player will play the format that you burn. I have a high end Sony Blu-ray player that will not play .avi files. My older Toshiba upconverting DVD player will.
