How do I format an external drive in FAT 32 in WinXP Pro?

I have win xp pro and want to format an external 120 gig drive for my ps3, the ps3 requires the drive to be formatted in FAT32, yet under disc management in winxp pro i only have NTFS and exFAT options.
I tried a program called swissknife, found the drive and deleted the partition and created it in swissknife as fat32, however under my computer it still shows this drive as NTFS?
Also tried another method going thru cmd then format P: /FAT32 P: (then enter) which I read in another post when i googled this, and that asked me for a volume label, if i hit enter (blank) i got an error, if i put in anything like OK i got an error.
Kinda stuck here on what I thought should be an easy thing to do...
The ps3 needs the external drive to be formatted in FAT32 structure.
Sorry for such a simple question but I am stuck...
