Windows XP forum: desktop icons won't work

desktop icons won't work

I have a Dell laptop that is running win xp service pack 1. When I start the laptop all the icons appear on the desktop, but when I click on any icon, they all disappear for a couple of seconds and then come back again, but never go to the program I am trying to access. The sane thing happens every time on every icon, so it is really useless at this time. Can someone please advise me on how to resolve this problem. thanks, Lino

It seems that you have some malware running. In essence, you should run all the viruses and spyware test shown in the following Antiparasite Tools message.
