Automated File transfering on XP

Hello my question pertains to automates file transfers. My boss would like to set up an automated transfer of recordings every fifth day. Basically it takes too long to open the 2tb drive we are using, and then finding the info we want. What he was thinking is if we could setup a smaller drive to recieve the files and then after the fifth day push them off on to the bigger drive. Is there a way to do this automatically with XP or is there a cheap software out that that might work?

If your boos is OK with 7 days in stead of 5, you can use task manager to schedule any batchfile or program or script you like.

I only have a very vague idea of how to right a bat file. Can a batch file be written to search files by they creation date and move the files to another folder?

1. A batch file, basically, is just the same commands as you would type in the command windows, saved in Notepad. So if you know the commands to be executed, you can write a batchfile for it.

2. It seems that the /DA# switch of xxcopy (free download for personal use, shareware for companies) fulfills your need.
