Windows XP forum: XP VPN password save

I searched this discussion and found no answer to the following.
I have two computer both running XP SP1 w/windows advanced networking pack. The first system I built saved my user id and password as requested with the check box of a XP VPN network connection. Everytime I use it I just click connect and away it goes.
The second system I built and all other attempts except the one described above will not save the user id and password in XP VPN network connection.
Anyone know why or more importantly how to get my other attempts to store the information.
On the working system it does not matter if the connection is for only me or for all users. In addition the system that does not work has the save password box grayed out so it can never be secected. Also, both system do not dial first, display the progress, prompt for name and password, no domain include, "Typical" security options w/require secured password-require data encryption and no custom settings, no IPSEC settings, automatic VPN connection w/Enable LCP and software compression, use TCP/IP, file/print share, Client for MS, no ICF or ICS and both have IPsec disabled as a service.
