Windows XP Corp.Pro ReInstall Questions

I Had To ReInstall XP Corp. Pro On An Old Gateway Computer..750mhz. Have High Speed Internet in the house; but needed Earthlink Dial-Up for this computer. Now The Computer Shows The 56K Modem Is Working Fine, The Driver Is Fine; And It Seems Everything Is Fine; Except That It is Not Getting the Dial Tone from The Phone. I Had A Wireless Card On This Computer; But Took The Computer to A Local Repair Shop,and Traded For The PCI Card, so I would be able to use Dial-Up.
The Owner of the shop has told me that by ReInstalling Windows W/O Backing Up the Computer, That ALL The Drivers were Lost. I Am The one who put Windows Xp On That Computer The 1st Time; and I Had No Problem. I Need To Find out if the PCI Card is Bad;That He has to replace. Or, I will have to Pay Him To Supposedly ReInstall All The Drivers. I Would Really Appreciate Any Help! I am In the long Process of filing for S.S. Disability..Thanks Much
