XP installer runs whenever computer is turned on

Whenever I turn on my Toshiba satellite 330CDT it runs the windows xp installer. As soon as I see the dialog box I hit cancel and it all goes away & everything is fine. BUt how do I stop it from doing this at all?

Let me try the short answer first. If you see a word in all CAPITAL LETTERS it's because it's something you can research (google?)

Try the MICROSOFT INSTALLER CLEANUP UTILITY and remove that item that has a PENDING INSTALL.

Thanks, I will try your suggestion. I don't know anything about capital letters, or Windows XP for that matter. When I do any serious work, I do it on one of my 3 Macs because even in Microsoft's wildest wet dream, windows will never be 1 millionth the operating system that MAC OS is.
But I have a PC to run one and only one program which was written by someone who passed away ac oouple of years ago.

Capital letters.

Examples:

Capital letters are ones that are in upper case. Such as CAPITAL.
Camel case is a somewhat new method for names in software. Such as CamelCase.

Given the forum's limitations on formatting and this is a discussion, self help forum I offer titles that you can find out more with a search engine. To help you spot the titles I may use the software's title in all capital letters.
