Windows XP forum: Boot Sequence error

Boot Sequence error

I am running Windows XP Professional. I recently had to change the boot sequence to let me boot from the CD. When I was done I changed it back to boot from the hard drive. Since then I get an error on the floppy drive (I have none) and I am asked to press F1 or F2. I changed the boot sequence to exclude the floppy drive entirely, but that doesn't seem to help. My only real problem is that the boot stopps until I press F1. How can I fix this so that it doesn't stop?

Check your BIOS to see if a floppy drive

shows as present and/or if some wording similar to "floppy seek on startup" exists. You may still have a floppy port with no attached drive and that could be enough to cause your error unless "none" is shown in the configuration or floppy seek is enabled.
