Mouse ps/2 Compatible - Cannot Start Device (code 10) XP

Hi all,
I have had a problem since 2 days.
My mouse doesn't work.
In Device Manager Mouse Compatible PS/2 has a yellow circle.
The error is Cannot Start Device (code 10) XP.
I tried to update drivers doing a manually search. It starts installing the driver for that device but first it wrote that the drivers also controls the keybord port and then wrote:
Error during hardware installation
Mouse compatible ps/2
Cannot start device (code 10)
I treid with several kind of drivers (standard ps/2, compatible ps/2, etc..) but the results was the same.
It is not an hardware problem because I have 2 pc. I moved the hd on the second pc where there isn't this problem and it appears, while moving the hd of the second pc on the first it did work fine.
I tried unistall and unplug ps/2 mouse and plug an USB one but it doesn't work.
More, when I reboot the system automatically recognize the device "mouse compatible ps/2" with the error.
The IRQ12 is not in conflict with others and since I have IRQ10-11 open I tought I could change the IRQ but it was impossible because the "Use automatic settings" was greyed out.
I couldn't understand how to change it using BIOS.
I tried also re-installing the sp3 of xp but nothing.
I cannot do a system restore because my pc is not enable.
My PC has
motherboard: HP Compaq dc7100 CMT(DX438AV)
os: winsows XP SP3
mouse: optical ps2 and usb
Could anyone help me?
Thanks in advance
