Drives don't show up in Disk Management

Hello,
When I go to Disk Management, my hard drives are not listed. They are visable in My Computer. Nothing is listed except my DVD drive.

The reason I was in Disk Management in the first place, I plugged in my backup external drive (500GB Seagate FreeAgent Desktop) and it did not show up in My Computer, so I thought it was a drive letter assignment issue. So I go to Disk Managment and none of my hard drives are listed!

Please Help!!!!!!!

Actually two. The first one was simple. The owner had been tinkering with SERVICES.MSC and all I needed to do was use http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm to find out what the default settings were and then put it all back. Yes, they paid TWICE for the service since they didn't learn the first time.

The second one was a combo issue. Not only did they run registry cleaners but a new trojan had infected the machine. We were able to save their files then wiped the machine and restored the OS from the maker's CDs. Another painful and expensive lesson about registry cleaners. I felt I could have fixed it but the registry was far too clean.

Me too have same problem. My disks don't show up in management. But I can't get anything from the link you posted... Please say specific solution!

I mean I checked all the services. Still partitions don't show up in disk management..

Tell about those partitions.

If those are non-Microsoft partitions then they may not show up.

Why this is, is because it is that way.

All of those are windows partitions. But now the problem is clear. I used Mc Afee rootscan program to delete viruses. They are just viruses which corrupted some system files.
