Outlook stuck in System tray

Hi,
Don't know why or how but my Outlook is behaving badly.
I have five different emails and used to open outlook manually (from the quick launch icon), select the profile, get my emails, shut outlook, open again, select another profile etc. etc. Each time I did this Outlook would put an icon in my system tray, but it would disappear a second or so after I closed Outlook.
Now, the first time I open outlook I get the option to choose the profile, an icon appears in my systray as before but now when I quit it does not go away.
If I right click and properties on the systray icon I get the option top open Outlook, but it does not open.
I can click on the quick launch shortcut but I only get the profile I first selected. The only way I can get the select profile options is while I have Outlook open, I CTRL ALT DEL and end task. Now when I click the quick launch I get the profile selection again.
How do I get Outlook to quit properly again????
Thanks,
OSSeas.
