510 - SPLASH SCREEN IMAGE CORRUPT

i am working on this computer, i turned it on, and immidiately i see this message " 510 - splash screen image corrupt". (it says that the splash screen image has errors. run Rompaq to restore the default image in the system rom. (its a compaq computer)

what do i do? how does one run Rompaq?

This is just an example of ROMPaq for Compaq Models with a 686P2 Family ROM, including the instructions. You should determine the model number and search for it at the above HP support site.

Having the some problem - well almost!!

I've gone through the same thing: Downloaded the firmware and have been trying to install it, my problem is that I'm having a red light frashing, which stops me from finishing the install. I've been having this problem from the start, well before I started the update which I was doing from taking advice from this forum. The red light that is flashing is the System boards start up-light? Sorry I'm shust a begainer.
