safely removing old windows directory

Hi,
I backed up my hard drive using xxclone, but it seems to have left the old system files in tact (windows directory etc). Does anyone know how I can safely remove them?

That looks proper to me.

When you back up or clone a drive, the original folders and files on the drive remain intact and unchanged.

Nothing wrong there as far as I can see.

But perhaps I have misunderstood your post.
