SATA driver needed for reinstall of XP

My Dell Optiplex desktop had a blue screen crash, and I tried everything I knew to fix it. The problem is it won't recognise the SATA hard drive and I don't have a driver for it. Originally it left the factory with a 40GB IDE drive and has since been fitted with a 160GB SATA by the person I bought it from. The Dell site has no drivers for it, nor Intel's, and I'm struggling to find the right one.

I really want to avoid putting another drive in if possible, but ultimately I want to get it working again. I bought the PC specifically for music and video, so speed is of the essence.

I've run out of ideas as to where to find the right driver for this and any and all help would be gratefully received!

Spec:
Dell OptiPlex GX270 P4 2.8Mhz (Intel 865G chipset)
XP Professional SP3
512MB Ram
160GB SATA HD
256MB Zotac Geforce AGP Graphics card

HD Model no.

The model no. is ST3160023AS I think it's a Seagate. Does it matter? I was told it's down to the motherboard rather than the individual HD. Is that correct?

Make an install "plan"

Installing XP to sata machines is well discussed. I won't write about that but share what you might miss.

1. Set the BIOS set as such:

Onboard IDE Operate mode - Enhanced
Enhanced mode - SATA
Configure sATA as RAID - No
Serial ATA BOOT - Enabled
IDE Detect Time Out = 35

2. Download the latest raid drivers from Intel.com and use the floppy exe to make a F6 disk.

3. Start installing the OS and press F6 when it asks.

4. Feed it the floppy noted above.

Thank you. I was having problems actually finding the right driver but I think I've got it now. I'll check the bios and make sure it's as stated, many thanks!
