My wired mouse does not work, but.......

...it was working before I connected a wireless mouse.
Now, I need the USB port because I have a portable drive , and when I reconnected my old mouse; it did not work!!.
I have Windows XP pack 2, and a Dell pc.
The only mouse that the pc recognize and works with is the wireless one.
Can you please, help me?.

Its often the quickest option, and cheap as well.

But tell us more.

What happened when you plugged that wired mouse into another computer? Does it work then?

What happens when you plug another wired mouse into this computer? Does that work?

Have you tried the USB ports at the back of the computer?

Mouse troubles...

Mark,
I tried to use device manager, and updated the driver.
I'm getting a message that reads: "Device is not connected,
driver is not working properly ( code 24).
The device ID is " Microsoft PS2/Port",
The wireless mouse still works, but I can't get the other one to work.
I used windows update, and the results are the same.
I am frustrated, REALLY!
