Enter network password dialogue box keeps popping up

I cannot access my e-mail. I've tried using both Outlook and Outlook Express and I keep getting an 'Enter Network Password' dialogue box. When I enter my user name and password, the dialogue box reappears.
I've checked both the username and password are correct by accessing my e-mail through webmail. My ISP has confirmed that I'm logging on using the correct information. I created a new e-mail account via my ISPs website but still get the same problem with that.
I'm running XP with Norton Antivirus 2004 and Internet Security 2004. I have tried disabling both e-mail scanning and the Norton firewall, to no avail.
Can anyone help?
