Product Key Update Tool

When one updates a product using the Product Key Update Tool, is it possible that other users having the same product key face problems or that the distributer of "Not-Genuine" Windows is caught?

This issue causes too much lost time and your pocketbook as the distributer ripped you off. You also bring up a point that you should never let your CDKEY be known.
