How do I check my computer temperature? Help me please!

Hi i got a windows xp and My computer is restarting unexpectedly and i need to check the temperature!...I know for sure its not a W32.Blaster worm cause i used the blaster worm removal tool and it founded no worm. and for sure its not the advanced settings in my computer properties/unchecked the box (automatically restart computer when power fail). so i dont know what the problem is now. i am thinking that the computer is over heated?

But i dont know how to get there. thats the problem. when the computer starts i pressed f2 which goes to setup i checked and didnt find a bios/system temperature. i pressed f12 and found nothing....i dont know where it is any1 help? or if u know why my computer is restarting by itself tell me. thanks

You didn't say.

You will need to give your processor type information and motherboard type. I don't know the ins and outs of system temperature options, but I understand that some boards do not have temperature sensors that can be easily accessed through software. However, I believe that Everest Home Edition has the ability to monitor cpu temperature sensors.

The discussion here gives a little detail about the different problems involved in temperature monitoring. That page is a Googled cached page, hence the odd looking format and highlights.

Remove the side cover of the case. Is the issue better or worse?

Tell if anyone has removed the CPU HEATSINK (see google if you need to know what that is) since some don't know that doing so without adding a drop or two of heatsink compound leaves air voids and can create issues.

Also, did you do your yearly cleaning? It's usually like you see at this link -> http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-11319_7-6240575-1.html
