can't install ANYTHING

hello, ok so whenever i try to install anything downloaded, from disk,or even flash it does not work the computer freezes after i hit the first next. i have an alienware m7700 laptop with xphome

This could be a number of things from virus damage to a corrupt Microsoft Installer issue. Tell us more about the history of this computer.

What does the Event Viewer say? Goto Start > Run, type in eventvwr.msc and click OK. Check the logs for both Application and System for any reported errors. Double click an entry for more information.

When did this start, and what were the circumstances when you first noticed it, eg virus infection or similar unusual event?

What do you use to protect the computer from hackers, viruses, spyware?

errors

I checked the event logs and found errors under system relating to tcpip, dhcp, service control manager, and, server. Under Application there are errors relating to Esent, Application error, and, Application Hang. this all started after i got my computer back from being serviced by alienware for the fifth time and having the gpu fan replaced, this is not related to a virus my computer is clean thank you
